The Madagascar Cuckooshrikes (Coracina cinerea) is also known as the Ashy Cuckooshrikes, occur naturally on Comoros, Madagascar, and Mayotte in the Indian Ocean. Their natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and moist lowland forests.

The sub-species Comoros Cuckoo-shrike (Coracina cucullata) is by most considered a subspecies of the Madagascar Cuckooshrike, but some authorities consider them to be separate species.
