Books have always been one of my great loves so it is a real pleasure for me to be able to review some of the currently available works on arthropods and their ecology. Some of these books are of broad general interest others are more specialised. I have graded the books into 3 general catagories, (i) Student, this means the book is particularly aimed at higher secondary and university undergratuate students, which means the book is fully referenced and will assume some knowledge of biology on the part of the reader, many of these books are well written and will be enjoyable for non-students to read (ii) General, this means anybody who has an interest in the subject should enjoy this, and (iii) Junior, this means the book is specifically aimed at younger readers. Some of the books are primarily taxonomic works but with a good helping of ecology, you will find these in both catagories.
Finally I have to thank all the publishers who have so kindly sent me the books thus enabling me to supply you with these reviews.
Most of the book reviews on these pages are also a linked to from the most relevant subject pages within this site. However you find them I hope you enjoy them.

| These pages are here free for you to use, I would like to keep them that way, however making and running this site, and the other sites I am currently making or have made, on Birds, Mammals, Insects and Fish and Bacteria as well as all the other invertebrates costs money. There are several simple ways you can help. The first is by using the search engine here, that way you make me 2 or 3 cents a time, not a lot but it adds up. Another way is to visit my Online Store where you will find beautiful images combined with ecological slogans and ideas decorating a large range of products.
Or you could buy a copy of my recently published book of poetry. It is called Poetry for All the Family, which describes it perfectly. Although I do publish poetry in the specialised poetry magazines the poetry in this book is specifically designed to be enjoyed by people of every age. Follow the link for more information. It is not expensive and should be thoroughly enjoyable, so if you like it please tell people about it, or better still give it to someone as a present for Christmas of a birthday. |
