Red-rumped Cacique (Cacicus haemorrhous)

Red-rumped Caciques (Cacicus haemorrhous) are found in the Amazon Basin and the Guyanas in northern South America, and are only coastal there in the Guyanas and the Amazon River outlet to the Atlantic.

It is also found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela. A separate large disjunct range exists in all of southeastern and coastal Brazil, including Paraguay, and parts of northeastern Argentina.

Their natural habitat consists of subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests or swamps, as well as heavily degraded former forests.
